Most flooring companies require their customers to find other contractors to help with things like transitions, trim, plumbing and furniture movement. When you come to us, there is no need for an outside contractor - we offer a wide variety of services that will take care of most, if not all, of your contracting needs during the process. Here are those services:
Our employees are highly trained flooring technicians, but we are not electricians or plumbers. With that in mind, we like to leave the removal/replacement of refrigerators, toilets, stoves, washers, dryers, to the professionals. We ask that if you need an appliance moved for the work to be completed, please make the arrangements with the proper company to do so. The only exception to this is if moving the appliance does not require unhooking any tubes, pipes, wires, etc. If we are removing and replacing any appliance it will be noted and priced on your proposal. If you do not see a note and/or charge on your proposal for moving an appliance we agreed to move please contact the office.
We remodel between 1-3 bathrooms a month. The scope of a typical bathroom remodel would include demolition and perhaps some reframing. Next, we would often modify plumbing and electric and occasionally heating and cooling. Then, we often install new tubs or showers, often custom showers (niches, soap dishes, accent strips, etc.), and we install tile, grout, and often granite curbs at the entrance or on the walls adjacent to showers. Then we install vanities, often granite countertops usually with under-mount sinks. Finishing touches include things like frameless glass doors and walls, custom painting and punch-out work which includes mirrors, towel bars and other finishing touches.
One of our specialties is concrete, brick and stonework. More specifically we do the following types of projects:
Pouring concrete driveways, parking pads and walks
Underpin homes, townhomes, and buildings
Repoint interior and some exterior brick walls
Lay stone walks, steps, and walls
This type of project normally includes digging footers, structural framing and the installation of decking boards, stairs and railings. Increasingly we are asked to install custom lighting, outdoor plumbing for water or gas and many other specialty items.
Many small to medium-sized renovation projects require drywall work. We do this quickly, efficiently and cost effectively.
Often home and building owners have furniture moved before we arrive. But often they do not, and our assistance is requested. If we are moving your furniture, please make sure you unhook any computers, TV's, VCR's, stereo equipment, etc. Be sure to move any small items such as chairs, small tables or knick-knacks, and empty all bookshelves and closets. Also, you may choose to take down drapes, curtains, vertical blinds and pictures. If there is not enough room to store all the furniture that is in the area of the work, the job will need to be completed in phases. We would much rather do jobs in one phase, but this is not always possible.
We remodel one kitchen or so a month. The scope of a typical kitchen remodel would include demolition and perhaps some reframing. Next, we would often modify plumbing and electric and occasionally heating and cooling. For example, this might include adding recess lighting, under-cabinet lighting, adding a wet bar, and many other desired features. Then, we install new cabinetry, granite countertops or other stone countertops many with tile backsplashes and almost always with new under-mount sinks and faucet fixtures.
Often, homeowners and building owners have a great relationship with a plumber who handles the plumbing needs that are often a key part of hardwood flooring projects. Most hardwood flooring companies are scared to disconnect and reconnect plumbing. At Premier Hardwood Floors, we are not! If needed and if you don’t have a plumber close at hand, we will disconnect and reconnect all of your plumbing, from refrigerators to toilets and everything in between. There is no need to call a plumber when getting your hardwood refinished when you call Premier Hardwood Floors.
Premier Hardwood Floors also provides custom railings for homeowners wanting to improve the look and value of their current home. Updating existing balusters and handrails can dramatically change the look and ambiance of a grand staircase or balcony‚ and help transform an ordinary foyer into a true work of art. For homeowners, we provide an estimate and design consultation. A design and construction specialist will meet with you to make recommendations, provide assistance, and answer any questions you may have regarding your project.
With a professional stain and finishing department, we have the ability to match existing colors or custom blend colors for a beautiful finish on your stair rails.
We specialize in small, medium and complete renovations of single family homes, townhomes, and small apartment buildings. The scopes of our renovations include but are not limited to:
- Mechanicals (plumbing, HVAC and electric)
- Dry wall
- Interior and exterior trim, doors and windows
- All flooring types, in particular ceramic tile, hardwood flooring, engineered flooring and carpeting

- Detailed punch-out
Shoe molding (or quarter round) is often required to cover the gap that exists between the flooring and the bottom of base trim. We will supply and install it, usually finished to match the floors but sometimes painted to match the trim.
Tile finishes cover a broad range of handsome and durable floor and wall surfaces. Life cycle costs of commercial tile outperform many common finishes such as carpets and vinyl tiles.
Some of the tile finishes Premier Hardwood Floors offers are:
- Ceramic Tile and Patterns
- Porcelain Tile
- Floor and Wall Tiles
- Quarry & Saltillo Tile
- Cut Stone Tile
- Glazed Wall & Counter
